Piling Works for Kijing Port

The vision for Kijing Port arises from the solution to overcome limited draft restriction in the existing Pontianak port, high sedimentation from the Kapaus River resulting in escalating dredging fees, and restricted expansion of the port facilities. As the sole deepwater port in West Kalimantan, Kijing Port is the gateway port to handle container and bulk cargoes, thus stimulating the economic progression and industrialization in an area that is rich in resources.

The port comprises a Wharf that is 1,000 m X 100 m in size, a Port Management Area (PMA) and a Trestle that is 3,450 m long – and total of 5,000 over number of piles. As with any mega marine piling project, planning of piling sequencing and liaising on the pile supply are key ingredients towards success. Slated for completion in Year 2020, it will bring the much-needed connectivity and ease the flow of goods in West Kalimantan.
