Leading on a Higher Level

Few things are more important to human activity than leadership. However, in HSL, we do not merely aspire to be leaders. We believe in leading at a higher level, where leadership is about serving, and not self-serving. We perceive leadership as for the greater good of mankind, and not merely a means to accomplishing goals. Our leaders may focus on results, but they also place great emphasis on people development, giving high priority to employee engagement and job satisfaction. As leadership guru, Ken Blanchard aptly puts it; “Leading at a higher level is the process of achieving results while acting with respect, care and fairness for the well-being of all involved.”

Our Pledge for the right kind of Leadership:

  • Create a Compelling Vision that has a significant purpose and a picture of the future together with clear values.
  • Treat HSL clients and colleagues with respect, trust and dignity, taking into consideration cultural and social differences.
  • Creating a culture of empowerment that will release the knowledge, experience and motivation that reside in people. Empowerment comes with sharing risks and responsibilities and being accountable.
  • Cooperate wholeheartedly to achieve greater possibilities as a team.
  • Coach and give feedback sincerely to enable colleagues to achieve milestones.
  • Encourage colleagues to develop ideas and give credit for creativity and jobs well done.
