Temporary Shoring works for Intake Pumping Station

On 14th of November 2014, HSL Constructor Sdn Bhd was awarded with Temporary Shoring works for Cooling Water Intake Pumping Station for Fast Track 3A 1x1000mw Coal Fired Power Plant by Dongah Geological Engineering Co. Ltd., Malaysia. The Shoring Works carried for the supply of cooling water through Cooling Water Intake Pumping Station designed for a size of 75.65m (Length) x 28.4 m (Width) x 19 m (Depth).

Due to the challenging soil profile of marine clay and bigger in size, the temporary shoring works were carried out with Steel Tubular Piles and jet grouting. In addition, 2 Layers of Strutting works were provided for the Intake Pumping Station. Strutting Works and Excavation carried out in parallel for the purpose of accelerating the schedule. Project is estimated to complete in October 2015.

Intake Pump Station

On 28th February 2014, HSL Constructor Sdn Bhd was awarded with Cooling Water Intake Pumping Station for Fast Track 3A 1x1000mw Coal Fired Power Plant by Daelim (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. The construction works carried for the supply of cooling water through Cooling Water Intake Pumping Station designed for a size of 75.65m (Length) x 28.4 m (Width) x 19 m (Depth).

The size of the Intake is bigger than ever HSL built and the schedule period is lesser; strategical plan had been carried out for the construction. Initially for avoiding the Water seepage from bottom side the perforated pipes laid with crusher run and pumped from the pits around the intake.

To minimise the schedule timing following works were carried out:

• Using of Doka formwork
• Staxo – 40 Platform Prefabrication on ground, lifted and installed inside the Intake
• Rebar Prefabrication for the 500 thick Walls on ground, lifted and installed inside the Intake Pumping Station.
• Precast Slab for the Roof.

Project is estimated to complete in October 2015.
