Why HSL?

Because HSL is rapidly growing and I believed I could learn a lot from a company which has grown from only a small start-up to become an international company with various projects across Southeast Asia.

What did you enjoy most during your internship?

I really enjoyed working with friendly colleagues from many different nationalities and backgrounds. The dynamic working environment made my 20-week internship journey a really fun yet enriching experience.

How have you applied what you learnt in school?

Under the Contracts & Legal Division, I was given the chance to analyse tender drawings and apply what I have learnt during my Civil Engineering Drawing course. Since the drawings were much more complex than the ones at school, I was able to gain a deeper understanding on how to read a technical drawing.

What have you learnt and how has it benefited you?

I learnt a lot about tendering process and all the legal stuff which was very new to me since I have not learnt about it at school yet. I had the chance to witness what happens before a project is awarded and understand the importance of communication and teamwork to achieve a successful project. All in all, I certainly benefited a lot from this opportunity.
